A 64 year old man with mental problems in the Italian city of Florence has been living as destitute as he had hidden in his house, including garbage, over 430 gold bars hundred grams each, with a value of 800,000 euros.
Alessadnro Commander Bartolini, Municipal Police of Florence has told the story of this man, who is admitted to a hospital city. Social Services and the Municipal Police had long tried to locate him, following a complaint from a neighbor by bad smells coming from the apartment above, but the man never opened the door of the house and spent weeks without leaving.
Finally, after a warrant urgent public health grounds, firefighters entered the house through a window to enter the agents, they found stacks of books, furniture, food, garbage and excrement.
During the cleanup man's apartment, which all had thought it was a homeless, found 430 gold bars, in several boxes and hidden in the trash, worth about 800,000 euros, and various coins of the same metal.
Municipal Police opened an investigation to establish the identity of the man and found that until recently had frequented the best restaurants in town and owned the local pharmacy, where he went to collect the rent on time.
